Congratulations to LaCroix & Hand, P.C.’s 2019 Spring Semester Scholarship Winner

Congratulations to LaCroix & Hand, P.C.’s 2019 Spring Semester Scholarship Winner
Every year, LaCroix and Hand P.C. chooses two outstanding students from the Western Slope of Colorado to receive a $500 scholarship towards their college degree or trade certification. The LaCroix & Hand P.C. scholarships were first established in 2015 by Thomas R LaCroix, Amy C. Hand and their staff, as a commitment to honor the Western Slope and its students. These scholarships are designated for graduates of area high schools that have demonstrated an outstanding academic performance, show community involvement and philanthropic effort.
This year’s spring scholarship is awarded to Whitney Dawn Watson from Montrose High School. Whitney has not only maintained a high academic standard throughout her high school career, but has participated in research projects with the DEA involving genetic research for local plants as well as the evolutionary sequencings for Caribbean plant research. Her passion for genetics and technology has led her to pursue a degree at Colorado Mesa University in biology, where she can gain experience in the field of research and science.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer these scholarships to local students,” said Thomas LaCroix, “Providing strong students with increased opportunities is a way to help ensure our region has a well educated, innovative work force in the future. Students like Whitney are a great investment in our community. ”
